I often find beauty behind decay— as with leaves, where many wonderful colors emerge before they crumble. On an individual level, leaves from across and within species are all distinctly unique in their appearance and construction. Yet, as they begin to wither and collect on the ground, individuality becomes less prominent, and they form a singularity that paints the landscape with effervescent hues— from verdant green to pale yellow, burnt orange to bright red, and dark purple to brown or black. This process inspired me to compose leaf litter, a multisensory experience that guides listeners through a transformative journey of radiant soundscapes and washes of light.
